Stargazed

For the majority of the year so far, I've been itching to go out and shoot portraits or even go on photowalks with friends. But due to the lack of funds, and being clueless with locations, I've come to terms that a lot of my dream shoots and plans won't turn into reality soon. Feeling uninspired and stuck in a rut, whenever I get the rare chances of that sudden burst of idea, I try my best and act on it as soon as possible. This is one of them.

Finally, after months of just waiting for ideas and looking for inspirations, this dream shoot turned into reality. I'm aware that this is not the best, but I'm happy with how the photos turned out! Since I didn't have a model and the resources to take quality photos, I managed to work with what I have during that eureka moment.

I was able to maximize the potential of my current surroundings. There were a lot of makeshift items such as the lighting, the tripod, and the overall look and vibe of the shoot. I love playing with makeup that's why I managed to create this look that isn't my usual go-to. I wanted to do something that was creative, which is something I'm definitely not used to when it comes to photography.

This isn't the best but I'm really proud of what I managed to produce in such a short amount of time, and with limited resources. For starters, I admit that I am an absolute awkward potato when it comes to getting my portraits taken. I'm so used to being behind the camera that when I'm faced with the camera as a subject or a model, I instantly feel like everyone's watching me. But I guess it's a completely different story when you're the photographer, art director, makeup artist, stylist, and model all at once. I'm not saying that it's easier to work alone. But when it comes to someone like me, I prefer this, hahaha!

Like what I've been babbling about, I really am proud of this. But of course, I'm pretty sure that portraits like this already exists on the world wide web. I just wanted to try something different and challenge myself. This is a product of all the inspiration I've been immersed with as a creative. There are so many wonderful photographers and artists out there and they inspire me so much.  Thank you for sharing your craft!

To end this, I can't wait to take more portraits! I wish to work with all my creative friends and learn from them. This was such a fun experience and I'll definitely do this again with or without people to work with. This is proof that you can achieve something as long as you have the will to do it!

PS: I hope you like the photos as much as I like them!
