I've been working on a list of things I want to achieve this year. I think 2019 was the year of mental health for me. It was the start of how I acknowledge how important it is and actually make ways to be in a better state. This year, it's similar to that, but taking it up a notch!
Art-wise, I'd like to hone my skills this year. Working on a zine and make art prints as merch this year would be a dream! I'd love to participate in art markets and events. I'm also planning to start working on a notebook size sketchbook rather than my current small yet bulky art journal. Putting my art out there in the world is just something I'd like to try for 2020. This also means planning and executing more shoots with friends and hopefully get hired for events or shoots someday. These are just some things that I've always wanted to do and I thought to myself that I should make them happen this year. No more excuses!
I wasn't able to read a lot of books last year but I vow to finish at least five books this year. Yes, five books. That's actually such a small number compared to finishing around thirty books in a year during my teenage years. I really hope I finish five books this year! If you have book recommendations, please leave them down below!
For my well-being, I will do my best to go to all my monthly appointments. Whether it's for my mental health, dental health, or whatever kind of health it is that needs care and attention! This is kind of hard for me since there are really days that I don't feel like going out. But I should remember that this is all for me and it will benefit me in the end. It's like some sort of investment, if you could say that. Another thing is that I'd like to go running during sunset every other week. This will be hard for me but I hope it's a baby step for my physical well-being.
For output-based goals, I plan on getting my driver's license this year. YES, I KNOW, I'M ALMOST TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD AND I STILL DON'T HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE, HAHAHA! (Oh, the hassle of bringing my passport as a valid ID during registration for events and/or parties at bars.) I really hope I'll get it this year, hahaha. This is really embarrassing for me. Another thing is, I hope I'll get a stable job and actually save money. I'm still not sure how to make this happen but I am certain that 2020 is the year for this. I will figure this out very soon.
Yeah, I have a lot of plans but I guess this is just a sign of wanting to be better in every way possible. But let's be real, all these goals and dreams will never be transformed into reality if you just let things be. You need to work hard and achieve them. You need to be rational and realize that it's a long road to success and it's never easy. You just need to remind yourself of how much you want things to happen. Remember why you're doing these things in the first place.
Cheers, stranger!
