Gudak iOS Application

Knowing my love for photography, both digital and analogue, this iOS application instantly made me excited to try it out. Despite being a paid application, I still made the effort of buying it since I’ve heard and seen so much beauty from this little creation. This is the Gudak application where it somehow turns a mobile phone into a disposable camera. It’s very affordable, for PHP 49.00, you’ll be able to play with this application right away.

Let me give you a run through of how it works! Once you open the app, it shows a display of the back of a disposable camera, with a shutter button, a shutter count, a tiny viewfinder, a switch for the flash, and a battery icon that directs you to the processing laboratory. You start off with 24 exposures that you can use until you can finally queue it for processing. However, the queue takes 3 days before you can actually process the roll you’ve used. The fun thing about this is that you can only use the tiny viewfinder to see the frame of the photo. You can’t enlarge or zoom it in. And you can’t use another roll right away; it takes 12 hours before you can use a new one. So use your exposures wisely!

As you can see, there are different effects and filters in the photos. I think there are different filters that are applied every hour. So some rolls may look like they have similar filters.

Obviously, I’ve been having a lot of fun with this app. It kind of made me document my days more. And it gives off that same exciting feeling that film photography gives when using rolls–the surprises and the anticipation await you in every exposure. It’s like using film photography without spending the usual fees, hahaha! But of course, actual film photography is still different. All in all, this is a really fun way to document your day in a different way.

I suggest you guys try this out. It’s really fun and somehow a bit addicting! If you plan on trying this, let me know! I’d love to see some of your photos. c:
