Nights Like This

A few weekends ago, my family and I went to Tagaytay for an overnight staycation. It was a bit spontaneous but definitely no regrets. It's a break that everyone in the family needed. We rented an Airbnb for a night and spent our time wisely. It was located off-road from Tagaytay City proper which gave us enough privacy and quiet time from all the hustle and bustle. I really wasn't able to take proper photos of the place, but I did spend my time trying to take (semi) decent photos of the night sky. This is a pretty rare opportunity for me, so I just went out and used my gear after a few months of neglecting them. Below is a photoset and some thoughts to accompany them, hahaha!

We were pretty secluded from the city so there were a lot more stars than usual. (Surely a lot more compared to Manila!) I spend a great amount of time just to take a few (good enough) photos of the stars and my surroundings. I had a hard time taking quality photos because to be honest, my camera's pretty old and outdated. Still with the hopes of taking photos and being productive, I spent time outside, staring at the stars and listening to the different creatures around me. (And there was a lot!)

It felt good to be surrounded with nature and not the busy streets of Manila. It was a change of scenery and a change of mindspace as well. Moments like this really helps me mentally and emotionally. It helps me stay grounded with reality and enables me to leave all my worries in pause for a bit. It never hurts to take a break in a little while. I really look forward to short trips like this and I hope we'll stay longer for the next ones to come.

There is not much else to say but I hope you enjoyed this set. It's not the best but I'm glad that I made something as a remembrance from a short trip with my family. I really wish I'll get more chances to take photos of the stars and be surrounded by nature in the future.
